How We Started
Preach the Word Evangelical Church, International was established in 1982 and has several locations in Nigeria (Africa) and Europe. Preach the Word Evangelical Church, Houston, Texas (PWEC Houston) was established to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and globally and to study and apply God’s Word (Scriptures). In July 1999 and under the guidance of Holy Spirit, the church started in Houston with seven people (Apostle Amos Oyewale and his family). Within two months, the church moved from Apostle Oyewale’s residence to a leased space with occupancy of about 30 people. A few months later, the church leased its current location, 4134 S. Kirkwood, Houston, Texas 77072.
